per capita and history-wise, PPP (the so-called intl. $) is the only way to measure QoL per capita, because it accounts for not only price level differences but also exchange rate fluctuations, and is the only base to formulate GDP per capita with an intl. $ at a constant rate set to some year, which is how the Angus Maddison Database does it (the reference year now being 2017, iirc)
