I understand why China and the US would beef over Taiwan. The TSMC is in Taiwan, and if China gets it, the rest of the world might not have access to semiconductors anymore. Extremely clear stakes. Even a retard like me can understand.
But why the fuck would any 1st-world country stick their neck out for some sand people killing each other in the desert? Who gives a fuck about those countries???

Iran and Israel are backed by Russia and America. If Russia doesn't defend Iran when push comes to shove then they look like they'll flake on their allies and piss off their Muslims. It's the same for America but their Christian population will go berserk instead. So there's a potential for two nuclear powers to get into a fight. Similar nonsense started WW1.
