I find it quite strange that an individual such as Alex Karp would denote liberals, socialists, and anarchists as “pagan” when there are perhaps no groups more definitively Christian than those ones in our modern western society. Ironically, the movement which displays the most apparent “paganism” is that one which he stands at the head of with Peter Thiel — in Christian-Zionism. Nationalism, xenophobia; contempt for the poor, the weak, and the botched; the enjoyment of feasts and festivities; reverence for might and opulence — the pursuit of both of these qualities — the worship of idols; the lust for battle; hawkish sentiments in general; youthful exuberance; vitality and virility; an obsession with beauty and aesthetics... Our “Christians” are impious people!

There is some level of irony, and perhaps even tragedy, in the apparent fact that the Dionysian spirit of antiquity lives on most effectively in evangelical Christians: that people who inherited the very apocalyptic doctrine which that spirit owed its initial endangerment to... And there is perhaps even more irony and tragedy in the fact that at the helm of that movement there are the descendants of that group out of which and against which the Nazarene rose in the first place…

This movement is an atavism, just as National-Socialism was! Although at the head this time are the people that the National-Socialists aimed against…

People around the world are tribal and enjoy preservation of culture.
