The parade was historical. They did examples from each era of the army's history. This was one. They also had revolutionary war era soldiers with muskets. You think we're sending those into war? Only Russia has arms that old in active service.

That's war for you. Every piece of big equipment has maintenance and a caravan of support vehicles. Say you go over the hours or redline it till something pops itll need downtime. Even your tanks need a bit of grease and a wrench on them.
