This is a fundamentally broken system, that can only be corrected from the bottom up. Which means we should be talking about giving up on taking the federal govt back and focus entirely on states. If the states can be won back, then it spells the end for the federal regime.
Instead what we find is influencers pushing the two party narrative. It’s unwise to keep fighting for territory that you can’t take. Focus your energy where wins can actually be gotten. Use these wins to propel you further.
If Nick is serious about political change, he should abandon Illinois, move to a state that’s mostly white and Republican, with lots of young people, run for state legislator forming his base from the youth and independent voters and start the process of decentralizing authority away from (((D.C.))). Way more money is spent on federal elections, and there’s no hope in winning there. State and local has less money involved and less turnout which means it’s up for the grabs if you can rally people.
