Long ago, GW Bush ended his presidency with a classic "pardon" phase. He liked to refer to it as "spending his political capital". Trump appears to have started his spending spree a bit early. No matter. The Republicans didn't do any heavy lifting for him anyway.

This week, Doonesbury is playing on the "No Kings" angle which is almost baiting him to attempt a coup. I don't think Trump is into that but he can be very spiteful

What I want to know is whether or not Trump has an ax to grind regarding lawyers, professors and doctors who really want to make it clear that they don't have time for my hillbilly money. There's probably a lot of Jewish doctors professors, and lawyers in the family who would be annoyed by his taunting them, but I still find it a bit nervy for liberals to commandeer "No Kings". It will likely go like "Black Lives Matter" where they don't really want to protest for Blacks, just homosexuals.

"No Kings" might have mattered if we didn't have about 40 years of liberal professionals turning their retirement plans into a new Patrician order.

The wheels are still turning. Trump doesn't really have the big picture. He just bluffs a lot. Israel may trap him yet.

Trump doesn't use his 'leverage' because he's an inept leader with an extremely weak foreign policy.
He has let Iran drag out negotiations with no intention of getting anywhere with them. It doesn't help that Trump has had Witkoff as negotiator, a real esate guy who knows zero about geopolitics.

Don't forget all of this is him trying to just recreate Obama's Iran deal. Say what you want about it but Obama at least got the deal made. Trump has completely fucked this up and if this becomes a wider war it's his fault for not using his cards to force Iran into a new nuclear deal, which would have thrown a spanner into Israel's plans too (Bibi was furious with the Iran deal )
