I saw this "turnaround" coming, back in 2015. Taco on two counts:
- being a shabbos goy
- being very close to the business right
Each of these points guarantee that he would fold.
Besides, outside of highly politicized circles, nobody really cares for immigration, people care for the general economic outlook. If kicking out illegals means distrubing the economy, voters will turn against Trump.
That's why I am surprised that Trump is going through with his trade wars and that's why the Republican 2028 candidate will get crushed.
