Dividends are a meme. Theyre essentially paid out of the value of the share price. There's no sense owning dividend stocks over non-dividend stocks and just selling them whenever you want, like 4x a year or something. It makes even less sense if you're not a US investor to own dividend stocks.

I only invested in local companies that deal with pretty every day things like agriculture and metal-making, stuff that won't ever fizzle out, but by coincidence they have dividends which have been paid very nicely

Not true. Your short-term cap gains tax is always gonna be way higher than your incorm tax. From that perspective it makes more sense to fake the dividends as opposed to withdrawing shares.

Random agircultural shares and metal-making companies from steel to aluminium, I thought it made the most sense since aluminium prices will go up cause of tariffs so we'd maybe do more domestic production to catch up for it same with steel, the agircultural stuff just made sense cause Americans will always be fat and eat like pigs
