I remember in high school I threw a rock at a jannie because she was lowering the flag and it accidentally touched the ground. I jokingly said “stone her” and intentionally missed her, wasn’t actually trying to hit her. Well she felt very embarrassed and offended and made a report to the principal about the incident. The only reason I didn’t get expelled is because the principal was a former Air Force Pilot and could kind of see this was a teachable lesson, so he made me lower and raise the flag for the entirety of the school year.
