It's important to understand the 2 main methods of gassing
1) Hydrogen-Cyanide Gas (or zyclon b)
>kills by bonding to your mitochondria and preventing it from producing energy
>this kills the cell, permanently
>you will have to divide new cells to replace the ones that died (~2 weeks or so)
>if any "permanent" cells, like those in your nervous system, are damaged, then the damage is permanent
>cyanide does not kill by "concentration", but rather by 'raw amount' you have been exposed to. Or, the concentration integrated over time.
2) Carbon monoxide gas.
>CO bonds to your red bloodcells in the place of oxygen
>this prevents the red blood cell from delivering oxygen anymore
>however over a certain amount of time (~20 minutes) the bonded CO will degraded and the red blood cell can continue its work
>this kills by concentration, that is, the amount of CO per volume of air.
>bonded hemoglobin starts building up in your body, but it also degrades, until it reaches a steady-state threshold. Therefore if the concentration is not high enough, you can exist infinitely in that room.
So you see the difference? Cyanide damage builds up cumulatively, while CO damage is based on concentration.
The problem is that in the holocaust narrative, this is almost the reverse.
-- In the Auschwitz camp, gas chamber workers were exposed to cyanide-laced bodies for long periods of time. Touching their skin, hauling them around, without any protective gear. Doing this for weeks or months, they would have gotten accumulated damage.
-- At Treblinka, the used a Diesel Engine from a captured Soviet tank. However, diesel exhaust produces a fairly low concentration of CO, and would not be sufficient to kill....certainly not quickly.
In order for the story to make sense, the effects of these gasses needed to be switched.
>>507553043I forgot to mention, during the Irving trial, they also made the case that to kill insects you needed a higher concentration.
.....but concentration doesn't matter. That's not even the operative factor. It's the amount you're exposed to over time. That entire argument didn't make any sense.
