No, it would be different because Iran is almost four times larger with twice the population, and the terrain isn’t all flat desert. It would be far more difficult.
Quite frankly we don’t have the military capability to invade and occupy it. We can bomb the living shit out of it, but trying to go in and hold it would require more troops and equipment than we have and cost more casualties than we can afford.
