The challenge of a warhead in the medium or short range is low apogee - simply more atmosphere to get through and less time to accelerate.

The fattah is an extremely high apogee for its range, and uses solid boosters to accelerate during descent as well as maneuver. It doesn't glide like HGVs, but it goes impossibly fast. This is why THAAD struggles with them and iron dome can't do shit.

The most impressive thing with these is how accurate they are.
