The media is going to try to use this as a wedge against Hegseth, ie blaming Hegseth for putting on a failed parade. In reality Hegseth is completely surrounded by enemies in the DoD and wouldn’t be able to organize an office picnic and it’s unclear how much Trump is aware of Hegseth’s position.

BTW it’s not just Hegseth, Rubio is also completely isolated at State. The Federal power structure has rejected the Trump admin completely. Only DHS may be somewhat onboard I’m not sure.
