Not even 200 years ago, allies would rally their troops and march to the other side of the content by foot, because some cousin is married to some other person and that person is now at war for absolutely no reason. And nobody would give a fuck if the entire army was decimated.

Why are modern alliances so weak? Apart from some support, Israel is abandoned by its western allies in the current conflict, and so is Iran by China and Russia.
