Honestly, I think going to war against Germany for Poland was a ridiculous notion to begin with when considering that it would significantly strengthen the Soviet Union (Hated the british Empire) and the United States (FDR actively wanted decolonisation)

Even if they destroyed Germany in 1940... The Soviet Union would have claimed the entire Baltics, bits of Finland, Romania and a huge chunk of Poland (Possibly even more if Germany was on the collapse) and then you would have to worry about America stepping on your toes.

Surely the more sensible option would be to simply let Germany and the Soviet Union duke it out? it's pretty damn obvious that was Hitlers intention. So in this scenario, either the Soviet Union loses and Germany has to control a vast multi-ethnic Empire likely with frequent revolts, or the Soviet Union prevails and the world is in the same position as in our future except this time with zero British casualities and war costs.
