Doctors are safer saying "it's nothing", than suggesting you have cancer and sending you to ten different specialists only to find out you don't. The $10k you're out for doing that isn't likely to make you happy about their practice. Worst case scenario, they miss something and shrug about it later. I once had one try her hardest to gaslight me that I was having a panic attack. I had a hole in my heart I didn’t know about. Doctors in the US have made medical treatment such a stressful maze to navigate that a lot of people with chronic mystery illnesses end up just offing themselves.
My aunt died because her back was hurting her. Sweet lil 80yr old lady. The doctors convinced her family that she wasn’t in pain and was just addicted to pain meds and was using it as an excuse to hunt for them. So they shoved her in rehab. She went along with it because she was extremely passive and didn’t want to start a fight.
