Yes - but it's a great safety net.
I have friends in US who are stuck in jobs as they can't afford to lose their health care.
None of them have ever taken more than 2 weeks off either.
It's a quality of life thing - and it's pretty sweet in the South of France.

No. Frankly, I don't give a fuck. Anyone who's enlisted, since 2006, knows exactly what they were getting into, or is too dumb to matter. I knew a bunch of military guys who re-enlisted for so many deployments, it would've horrified a vet from the Vietnam bullshit.
