Pakistan's action in the Israel Iran war is quite surprising. Although I am not quite sure, it appears that Pakistan has provided some real assistance to Iran, issued statements in support of Iran, and even a senior Pakistani official claimed that Pakistan should provide nuclear protection to Iran.
This is a bit wierd, in fact, Pakistan and Iran were not good friends. They have some problems in the border area due to BLA problem, and Pakistan has long maintained good relations with the United States and Saudi Arabia, who do not like Iran. Iran didn't like Pakistan neither, it actually prefers India. Remember the deal Iran signed with India after the broke out of the India-Pakistan war.
Pakistan's support for Iran seems to exceed that of one Muslim country for another, and a reasonable explanation is that China played a role in it. China has great interest in improving the relationship between Iran and Pakistan. If the war between Iran and Israel/the United States becomes a long-term conflict, Pakistan would be the most direct land route for Chinese supplies to enter Iran.
