They had a very pretty city, not High Elf pretty but acceptable for Yakubs.

You did play WoW though and it shows. Me too though. EverQuest was one of those games that gave you a high and people have spent decades trying to recreate it.

The secret was not the combat (which was ass) or the consequences (dying and losing hours of work from grinding) but because it was in the sweet spot like early /b/. 99% white people (with some Japs) and you needed the IQ/Money to deal with computers, planning and social skills. The community was small enough that if someone was a shit they'd be known among the entire server.

Remembering when I used an exploit to climb on the roof in Freeports Bank and shot guards with arrows over and over to boost my stats. They temp-banned me but ever after, I was known as an exploiter.
