Why didn't Israel switch on their Iron Dome contraption to stop IRAN?!

Was it some kind of an operational mistake, or did Iranian spies managed to sabotage it?

Israel never fully disclosed the extent of the damage those earlier Iranian operations inflicted, other than saying it was "minor" and that they intercepted like 99% of the missiles/drones. But I don't trust the Israelis because they lie and its even in their religion to lie. The actual damage Iran inflicted might have been very severe, or it might not. We simply don't know.
