The U.S. maintains Airborne divisions because

As long as F-35 can successfully perform SEAD missions, there's nothing wrong with airborne operations. Our boys have made much hairier jumps than into a deeply penetrated, rigorously prepared area.

Now you're facing just nigger tier flak as your paratroopers drop into a densely populated, hostile territory completely outnumbered and cut off from support. Maybe they can organize and hold a few streets for a few hours before being completely overrun or running out of ammo.

At the end of the night you're looking at a third dead, a third captured and a third still holding out useless positions. But at least your F-35 can capture it in 4k.
