Instead the US is laser focused on keeping Israel safe, which controls none of those choke points, nor does it provide any strategic advantage in any of the three choke points in the region.
Israel makes America's job more difficult by putting the US Navy at risk. The US has good relations with most of these nations, which is why oil is still very cheap, yet Israel seeks to ruin that for its own selfish and outlandish pursuits.
It has prompted Iran in acquiring a nuclear weapon, which is another shitshow the US has to deal with because of its obligation to the NPT, yet it fails to meet this obligation when it comes to states the US plays favorites with.
