the point is that these things must be sunk way before reaching their destination. Iranians should ask officially if the US intend to attack and that they would interpret a closing up of all these assets to Iran as an attack preparation. At that point Iran could 100% legally try to destroy them. Doing like Saddam did in 1990, letting the entire US army deploy to Saudi Arabian without hitting it would be madness.
