He wants to understand things and so I humor him by giving him my opinions, provide critical background info, give my analysis for certain happenings and possible scenarios etc. He isn't even dumb, but he's the quintessential midwit. He fires off a dozen critical questions every time we talk about things and I do my best to give him fair and reasonable answers with links (preferably from mainstream sources because they like those).
His standard m.o. is to never believe anything I say and always give me lame counter-arguments based on the normie news he watches. Whenever I gently push him and his narrative into a corner, I get no acknowledgement whatsoever. Even if we make some progress, the next time we talk about these things again, it's all forgotten. The problem with normies is that most of them aren't interested and if they are, they are unable to leave their bubble, work things out for themselves, have an uncomfortable opinion that goes against the mainstream and being able defend their views against critics. They also never connect dots, they are unable to take similar happenings from the past and extrapolate the info in a useful manner. Most don't see these situations on a meta level, they just stay on the ground floor. These and many other things make it impossible to get through to the average normie and as I've said, these are problems you run into when you get the rare normie who is interested in learning and understanding, which is rare enough. Most people are flat out incapable and uninterested. In my opinion, you can't underestimate the average person enough. I don't care if this sounds cringe as fuck and/or arrogant, it has been my experience so far, there's a reason I pretty much avoid talking about these things offline.
