The only way for men to be truly free is to have a sovereign conscious. The only way to have a sovereign conscious is to reject metaphysical bullshit, like the notion that some other power is capable of overriding your consciousness.

That being said, it's also important to recognize powers in the world exist that are above you. Not impossible to understand. Just completely knowable things like nature, society, etc. These are not deities to worship but things that should humble you.
