Women are left wing because looking more empathetic and emotional makes them more attractive.
This continuum flips often. When men turn left wing because of the women around them, like in college and universities, or in activism circles. Likewise women turn right wing, to fool men into thinking they aren't promiscuous and shallow.
Very few people actually think consciously.
