There are Israelis of almost every phenotype under the sun because Israel is a country of recent immigrants from across wide swathes of the world. Ashkenazi jews tend to be white (or at least white-ish), but they are only about 1/3 of Israel's citizenry. I think people who love Israel because of some type of "white solidarity" do so because they think Israel's ruling class they see on TV and jews in Europe/America are representative of what Israelis look like.
