From my understanding, the last time the United States ever officially declared war was back in 1942, and that needed to be done by Congress. But ever since then, the United States has NEVER declared war, officially. Everything post-WW2 have been military "operations" or "conflicts" for the United States.

So why are Democrats so eager to claim this is as an official war, when it's not? Donald Trump never declared war on Iran, a president can't do that. The President of the United States has the full power to mobilize the military for immediate threats, no?

It's how the power is balanced between the two branches. Trump can't declare war and he hasn't, so what crime has he really committed that needs Congressional intervention? That's what I would like to find out and understand from the Democrats.

True, if they didn't want jewish rule skirting they should have written the rules better. You can't expect a jew to understand the intention behind a law, or the definition of words like "war".

Declaring war has a certain context in the UN that basically only comes with penalties (which is why countries don't do it).

They want this to be an "official" war because of it will make support for Trump fall.

Getting congressional approval for these conflicts has been a topic in American politics for years. Every time this happens, it comes up. This is not the Democrat boogieman, this is Trump acting as a neocon.

In an effort to promote peace we have made a bunch of hurdles when it comes to declaring war so now we just have "conflicts" and "police actions"
So glad we solved that problem.

We play these word games with ourselves all the time.
Like how human trafficking has emerged ever since we outlawed slavery.
