How can any American believe that guns have been a net-positive for society? Their only argument is that it protects them from the government but every other developed country has been fine without guns. You compare that to how many deaths have resulted from gun violence and it's safe to say that it wasn't worth it.

I'd rather civilians be armed just criminals be armed. The guy in prison without a shiv having pissed someone off is dead.
First you ban guns but the criminals still have them. Then you ban the knives and swords but the criminals still have them.
