Western part of the state is very mountainous and has some of the best skiing in the country. Eastern half of has this really beautiful hilly grasslands climate. It is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It is a nice state. I enjoy going there.

I recently drove through the state on my way up to Montana, and it is comical how small those towns are. They also feel like they haven't built any new buildings since the 70's-80's so everything feels very old fashioned.

Itโ€™s relentlessly windy and cold there. Like 30mph with 60-80mph gusts on an average day. I lived in Colorado most of my life and have been to Wyoming hundreds of times. Itโ€™s beyond unpleasant. Itโ€™s so windy that the highways get shut down multiple times a month during the winter on account of how fast the roads ice over.

It's a terrible place. You can't even begin to imagine how windy it is, and the winters are extremely harsh. It's the last place in the USA where you legitimately have a good chance of dying if you poorly plan your gas stops. You would hate it. Don't ever come here.

>Wyoming is lovely but there are parts of Alaska I would rather spend the winter.
Yellowstone and parts of ID and MT surrounding it are consistently the coldest areas in the US, even often more than Barrow AK.

Those hot springs are a haven to the animals around it.

The winters will literally try and kill you. Insane wind, double digit negative degree temps, frozen pipes, insanely icy roads. Itโ€™s not for the faint of heart which is why a ton of people who move here for cheap housing or because they watched a season of Yellowstone move out in a year or two. It keeps the coastal parasites out and most of the Colorado pinkos.
