The Iranian youth got fagged up through the internet same as everyone else. Their government has to expend massive effort clamping down on their nationwide protests every few years and they’re less able to do that right now. Kurds also have separatist tendencies so may take advantage of the chaos. I doubt a major ground invasion is planned there’s a lot of shades of Syria and Libya here, more so than of Iraq.

You seem confused. Afghanistan isn't a problem because it's "so hard to conquer". Afghanistan is a problem because it's a drug farm and we need to make sure the infrastructure stays up for the whole country to be forced into farming drugs. We don't want that with Iran. We can flatten them from a distance, there's no reason to keep the people in tact.
