>>507863991 (OP)The urge to masturbate is natural. Unfortunately, there are a number of factors that can blow this natural urge to unnatural proportions.
From my own experience, I found that much of the urge to masturbate ironically came from shame about the urge. You have to find ways to move past that, and it's a lot of work.
One thing that's an absolute must is to stop viewing porn and erotic materials. These build up an unnatural urge to masturbate when you're not even really horny. It desensitizes you and makes you focus on feelings other than the sensations going on in your own body.
The worst part is that masturbation with porn doesn't really satisfy precisely because you're not fully focused on the act itself but instead the orgasm. This lack of satisfaction just pours fuel on the fire.
Practice mindful masturbation. No porn. No images. No fantasies if you can help it but when you start you might have to use them. Focus on the physical sensations when you do it and use lubrication (Astrolube works great). Don't focus on trying to orgasm, just the sensations. The orgasm might come eventually but it's not the goal. Take your time. Go slow.
As you practice it like this, with time you'll find your urges to masturbate should reduce (partially because it's not as easy as with porn, but also it's more satisfying). Do it when you need to - don't force it and don't try to avoid doing it at first.
After a few months, you can reevaluate whether you want to cut back or stop masturbating entirely. It's a process. But the key is understanding this is natural.
It's not masturbation itself that's the problem but your usage of it as a crutch to avoid dealing with other aspects of your life. A quick orgasm works as a great instant "drug" to make you stop thinking about your problems but using it in this matter only leads to more masturbation and shame.
