What's the point of having a military if we allow the Ayatollah, who's on the verge of defeat, to intimidate us into not even using our Air Force to blow up a handful of empty buildings. Think about all the money we've wasted flying the B-2 bomber over NFL stadiums, yet being scared to actually use it in combat?

Sure, taking out the nuclear program isn't the risk, but the potential counter-attack. But then what's the point of even having military bases if we're scared to defend them? You're telling me the reason we won't bomb some empty buildings is because our soldiers in bases scattered throughout the region may come under attack? What's the purpose of having them then if we're both unwilling to defend them or use them as a tripwire?

This middle ground of saying we have the best military but we're completely unwilling to use it is the most dangerous position to be in. Either we get an ROI on our trillion dollar a year defense budget or we shut the whole program down and start paying down our debt.

But personally, I think we should double our defense budget and start using our capabilities to the maximum. What's the alternative? Let our fighting-age population become addicted to drugs, porn, fast food, and video games? Just sit back and wait for the next bio-weapon to kill double the amount of soldiers lost in WW2? Think about how many possible soldiers were killed from Covid, the Vaccine, and car accidents. We lose more soldiers from suicide than combat! It's only going to get worse when AI starts taking all the jobs that could allow some of use to escape poverty. I'm not okay with seeing my peers die purposeless, undignified deaths, and I'd much rather we double down on expanding the American Empire and start moving in the direction of space colonization. I'd rather our future look like Halo than idiocracy.

Israel bombed Iran first, what exactly is the US defending? Israel was the aggressor. Saying that Israel is preemptively defending themselves by bombing another country is the same thing as defending Japan for preemptively defending themselves by bombing Pearl Harbor.
