The hardest part is learning their culture. It's a bit like nazi Germany actually, only they're still around. The no tenses thing is irritating also.

To practice, I recommend finding a cute chinese woman and asking her how to flirt in mandarin. Alternatively, go to one of their brothels and just listen.

Another advantage of learning mandarin, is that it makes it REALLY easy to fuck chinese women that only know mandarin and live in the west.

Alot of them are stuck in shitty contracts, or far worse in slavery, the other half are scammers. I feel very bad for the ones enslaved, and i try to avoid any location I know that employs them. You can tell right away because they will NOT speak mandarin around you if they know you can hear them. The normal ones that are just too stubborn to learn English won't care, they'll be happy to teach you and often times if you're good looking you can hit because they're lonely.

I am talking you barely need any working mandarin to secure this, basically just the motivation to learn. Chinese women are money grubbing though, so if you're poor or ugly this won't work.

It's bad r r to learn Cantonese for business vs mandarin. It's just a numbers game. Cantonese is higher caste, but the language is even harder than mandarin to learn. It might be worth it and interesting from an autistic linguistic historian pov, but mandarin is the future business language. It's the language of the black market. If you don't know mandarin, you're getting ripped off by someone who does. Knowing English on top of mandarin right now is ridiculous overpowered. I wish I was fluent. I'm barely conversational.
