>>507966490 (OP)>therapistsThey're a really hit or miss profession (quacks vs someone that can actually help) but I think the other side is the element of many people under the banner of acceptance and tolerance (most therapist are) tend to encourage people to embrace their condition/the condition becomes part of the person's persona and that further results in the popularizing/marketing of mental conditions which is the actual issue. I believe that there are mental issues (derivatives from a standard/norm) and they can be treated to some degree, but like we see with trannys, we seem to have moved to embracing/supporting the problem instead of counter acting it. You're not supposed to engage a schizos delusions or play into them with him, why are we approving/streamlining reconstructive surgeries? On top of that, add in a does of liberalism/rampant individualism and people think they're special instead of a statistic with somewhat predictable traits.
Technically I've been unofficially diagnosed with avoidant personality disorder, cluttering, stuttering, and by extension, depression. Catch is I've learned to mask/stave off many of the symptoms and thoughts and in many ways, no one ever thinks that I have a fairly frustrating host of issues. Point is mental issues are a thing that are still being redefined and many therapists are victims of today's culture/mindset resulting in what seems to be escalating acceptance of wanting to be broken. Sorry if this is a bit of a ramble
