The question itself is not a prank. It was meant to determine the mental state of an individual and their reasoning skills. A person with low intelligence and empathy doesn't understand the abstract hypothetical; while someone with normal intelligence and empathy will put themselves in those shoes and tell you how they would feel.

The interviewer took this assessment question and asked stupid people the question. They failed. It makes the viewer and interviewer seem smart, and gives engagement.

It's not really a prank, it's more of an ego thing it seems. As it's not really funny because someone with low intelligence and empathy will just fail the question, and that's it.

I've known so many girls (and less amounts of guys) who developed a habit of skipping breakfast despite complaining about the effects later.
