The religious head-honchos discussed the topic and they came to the conclusion that weapons of mass destruction are un-islamic. During the Iraq-Iran war in the 80s, Iraq gassed them loads of times, they killed over 20k and wounded over a 100k with chemical weapons and Iran still didn't retaliate in the same way because they were opposed to it. Seems pretty consistent to me.

They are not really independent so they don't need nukes anyway; they are fine with being owned by the American sphere of influence. It's possible they could change to the Iranian side if Iran gets nukes; it is like a cold war between Israel / The US and Iran. But that would probably be a conventional / proxy war, like with Ukraine. No nukes.
