I generally view the source of information independent of who posts the information on their website and I view it in a broader context. So, if an article is AP sourced, I look at which AP office was the originator of the information. Would I trust AP Beijing to accurately report information about China, no. Would I trust AP Beijing to report on India, yes. I also look at subject matter. Would I trust CNN regarding Trump, no. Would I trust their reporting on Iran, yes. Also, I read each article and glean the facts from it. If a CNN article quotes a military general who has access to information, I would trust it. If a CNN article is based on, "undisclosed sources," I would ignore it. I trust OPs links.

But I will consider what they present objectively before immediately dismissing it. The article OP posted is well-researched and well-written. It cites court documents and information provided from social media companies. It provides the names of sources and these people are willing to stand by this information. This information is also in line with the stated intent of the Chinese Government in stuff like their 5-year plans coming out of Party meetings. This is a rare example of good work being conducted by CNN. Its not just the typical "sources said" crap they are known for.
