I have to work closely with HR and nowhere is it more obvious the advantages of being a pretty and pushy blonde woman. The one I have to deal with presently is completely unused to anyone saying no to her, or anyone actually expecting her to understand something that requires nuance or depth. I’m sure she’s capable of it, but it seems like it’s been a long time since she had any pushback from anyone.

As a conventionally good looking man who doesn’t take shit from people, I am inherently thrust into the position of being her enemy, because I am essentially telling her how she should be doing some portion of her job, and as a Director she has some fluffed up sense of position where she thinks she can just push work back onto me and my team…. I work construction and most people cant continue if a problem arises and the boss isn't around they will just stop working if someone doesn't tell them what to do, I had one guy that almost started crying onetime, I never thought of it as a thought loop though
