Because both sexes are getting increasingly politically polarized and want nothing to do with each other. Include the rising cost of living and people simply ask themselves "Is it worth it?", and most people choose to spend what little money they have on themselves and on things they actually enjoy. Dating isn't worth it anymore, and I have serious doubts about things returning to the way they once were. In my case, I've basically planned my life around being alone forever, and just focus on my fish tanks. Why the fuck would I get a girlfriend, spend money on her, only for her to eventually cheat? Same thing with marriage, I refuse to get married (or have kids) knowing that I could lose half my shit because women can wake up one day and decide that "they're not feeling it anymore" and file for divorce (prenups don't save you anymore either). Fuck that shit, I'm much more content being left alone to take care of my aquariums.
