I don't think China wants to "support" Iran. I think they want to collect information from Iran and find out what the West's weaknesses and capabilities are. They are more like data-farmers than direct participants. They also get to play the good guy in the eyes of the UN. While Iran/Israel/US are fighting China gets to come in and play the role of the mediator. They are a lot better at studying their opponents, taking advantage of mistakes, and using soft power to spread their influence, unlike the US who is rapidly losing allies all over the world because you don't know how to stop fucking with people. Diplomacy used to be about making allies strategically, but now it's about your gay little moral crusades because the government is ran by busy-body Karens.
