My cope theory is that SpaceX is well aware V2 Starship has insurmountable problems. But they've already built a bunch of them. So I think they're basically doing sacrificial testing of them at this point. Putting them through stresses to see how they fail. I don't think SpaceX has any hope of launching a V2 successfully at this point. They need a V3. But they already have a bunch of V2 in the production pipeline. So why not test them to failure.
