Genuine question - how does /pol/ attract simultaneously the most braindead retards and very high iq people? There are pretty much no midwits other than newfags or actual redditors.

How do you filter out all the extremist propaganda, porn, and targeted influence campaigns by fedposters? How do you see what you agree with or don't in a chaotic mess of practically uncensored information?

This site is infamous, yet a substantial portion of global mainstream memes originate from and dilute into whatever normal people make with them. Feds understand this, and can be used as a political tool.

I go by feeling
After like few weeks you get a hang of it and you see who is shitposting and who is shillposting
you can see the difference in minute little things

It's like mainstream media, you know some of it is corporate propaganda, some of it is government propaganda and some of it is genuine information
If you read bunch of news, from all around the world, and question what you read then you can determine what is the truth

Same shit with ukraine war, you read western media, then chinese, then russian, then you make your own mind

It’s because of free speech. This is what happens when you relegate open discussion to one small corner of the internet. It will attract intelligent, decent people looking to engage in good-faith conversations about topics which could otherwise not be discussed freely without social repercussions, and it will also attract the most degenerate freaks. You should hear the way Twitterlibs (now Blueskyfags) talk about this place. “4chan people” is an entirely class of person to them. They imagine someone on this website to be a rapist pedophile terrorist sympathizer because they’ve never been here. They don’t know there’s different boards, they think the whole thing is /pol/ and that all of /pol/ are genocide supporters. They don’t know there’s tech boards, history, media, politics, you get the point. They don’t know that mid-level celebrities used to browse here and shout out the website IRL. They don’t know wojak and 90% of Gen Z terms originate from here. They don’t know that most memes were first popularized here, I think you get the point. It’s all their fault, of course. Once social media censorship ramped up, it fucked up all those sites and the culture they had and radicalized a lot of people (both in the good way and bad way) and also fucked up this site by bringing in a lot of idiots and creeps. Now that social media censorship has been somewhat rolled back, Twitter is full of low-quality right wing slop instead of good posts, yet simultaneously the idiots haven’t left here. I’m right wing, don’t get me wrong, I’m just saying most accounts and posters are coal. It’s not that I miss the censorship, butt miss the pre-censorship version of “X”
