Imagine if there was this demonic tribe that was super conservative and held 100-1000 year old blood feuds against entire races of people but promoted liberalism to everyone else to fuck them and it was impossible to reason with them because they were dishonest and lied to anyone who wasn't a fellow tribesman no matter what as a religious code. And they basically had a mafia infesting your government and kept pushing for it to send you to die fighting it's enemies or just tries to get rid of you by making you poor atomised and outnumbered by strangers. How scary would that be I'm glad there's nobody like that in real life
