Yeah, this is the one thing that'll finally get me to stop supporting Trump. Never met anyone in my life who said they wish they had less days off from work.

I have jobs where I usually work holidays anyway. And when I do, I get paid holiday pay and/or overtime pay. If he removes these as holidays, I won't get that extra pay, and will become poorer despite working the same amount.

The only time people don't work on holidays are corporate office gigs. And all of those jobs are salaried or they pay you anyway even though you aren't working.

Pray tell what are these jobs that people want to do on holidays but they just can't do? Like, are roofers and plumbers forbidden from working on federal holidays? Are there private businesses that are forced to close on federal holidays?

How many holidays do Americans have? I think to remember that they have very few paid vacation days and even less nationwide holidays than other countries. Give people some air to breathe and to spent time with their families.

and there's no guaranteed paid leave, that's up to each employer AFAIK. if you're lucky you can get 14 days PTO, but you could easily get 0.
