It makes me think that no matter how smart a woman seems to be, she can never overcome the fact that she is female. A female will always insert off-topic drama into the proceedings. Instead of meeting the standard, feminism encourages women to 'revise' the standard by throwing shade on all the accomplishments of the past.
Women think hypergamically. If particle physics isn't heroically winning the day (chad), it's a loser ideology that needs to be mocked and defunded (beta).
How about just shut up and do the work, or come up with a better idea? Sabine couldn't do that, but she still wants to stand in the sun of science, while preening as a victim of science culture, accusing the particle physics community of cynically grabbing grant money, while she turns her channel into a cash cow.
Women fail to accomplish things because they do it like Sabine not like Anton. Puttering along the same way everyday with no drama or heroism is half the battle, a battle women consistently lose.

Science isn't some conspiracy of silence. It has very well-established methods for self-criticism. It's called an academic journal. If she had something to say, she could have published there.
By going outside of academic journals, it proves that Sabine really doesn't have anything meaningful to say in terms of science, and is only interested in rabble rousing. In that sense, she's a demagogue.

The thing that bothers me is I don't know why she did it, except female derangement. She looked perfectly fine. Nobody was trolling her in the comments. I'm suspicious of academia and academic publishing, not least because it is in the control of large corporations, but also because peer review is a method of censorship I've witnessed first hand. But that's not relevant here. Nobody is blocking Sabine from publishing an article about the state of the science of particle physics.

If Sabine wants to operate as a scientist, as she has the right and access to, she has official channels she can work through. She could have published an article in an academic journal, then used her channel to bring attention to it. But she didn't do that. It says a lot about her as a scientist, and it speaks to her character. She wants to spill tea and draw attention to herself: AWALT.

Sorry anon, the last 10 years has been utter nonsense out of the theoretical physics department. Even the standard model is on extremely shaky ground, with researchers faking data in order to not get their grants pulled at accelerators like fermilab. The higgs boson being "found" at research labs that supposedly weren't strong enough to find it is leading people to question a lot more than 1 data finding. Quantum field theory was an attempt to shoehorn reality into a model and it doesn't work, but many people's jobs depend on it.

Go back and watch people explain field theory from 20-30 years ago, and even they weren't so sure it was real. The experiments of the late 1800s and early 1900s studying atomic particles were not only reproducible but could be conducted rather simply and changed the world. Now you need a $1 billion budget and you might learn nothing.

Unfortunately academic journals are basically run on social proof rather than analysis of data and methods.
Basically unless you’re already a big wig your only hope of getting published is to first establish a track record of coauthorship with a big wig. Then once you have enough 2nd and 1st author publications with the big wig scientist you’re now considered eligible to have your own research looked at by the journal.
Academic careers are all based on acquiring funding and publishing. Grants get awarded to those who have a track record of getting grants and journals favor studies from authors with a track record of getting published.
Yes you have to know how to design a study well, and the right analytical and statistical methods, along with the right funding and resources to actually gather enough data to really draw significant conclusions from the results. That all takes skill. But the only way to get to that point is to basically worm your way into the institutions and labs that already get the bulk of the funding and publications and establish your credentials meaning the whole field is essentially consolodated among big institutions who work with each other to block out competing ideas. It’s more and more about who you know than what you know.

And all the younger scientists have to be funneled through the education process thinking the same way and have to be picked by the higher ups to start their journey, meaning it's a static/linear path where funding/gatekeeping blocks out diversity of thought or those who question orthodoxy.

Academia is so incredibly well established and honest, that over 70% of the papers published aren't reproducible.
Yet they for some fucking reason don't consider this to be a big thing and don't even bring it up as critique of the field. Just publish fake bullshit and suck the grant money and it's all good.
Academia has become nothing but a total group think echo chamber, where the only thing that matters is that you tow the current day socially acceptable party line and don't rock the boat.
It's nothing but a retard filled progressive echo chamber that strays away from the scientific method more by the day.
