>>508078099 (OP)I am not an American at least by birth(Canadian), but I live here & have visited Chicago.
Chicago to its credit has some very nice architecture. The main library branch in tbe downtown is beautiful, there are numerous art deco and art nouveau buildings throughout the city. It has some great museums and art galleries and has a very renowned music scene. It is also impoverished and corrupt. My great grandfather moved there during the 1930’s, it would have been interesting to see it at that time. Some of the architecture in Chicago is downright malevolent, the Sears Tower & Hancock Center both look downright evil. Also I had the biggest culture shock in my life after I flew in and got on the train, got off in the Loop downtown and then went through a food court where there were basketball Americans shoveling food into their mouths at a pace I had never seen. It was utterly shocking to me because I had never seen so many black peolle and also because I have never seen people eat with such veracity.
Would I live there, no, hard no. Would I visit again? Maybe if concealed carry reciprocity was a thing.
There are more beautiful cities in America, I like Seattle, largely due to the geography of the Cascades. Savannah and Charleston are beautiful, would like to visit New England at some point.
The reason why most democrat run cities are crime ridden Hell holes in in part because cities are crime ridden Hell holes and in part because democrats are soft on many crimes. Honestly if those states passed constitutional carry laws the crime rate would possibly go down.
