There's no such thing as 'sick time' for most at the bottom of the pyramid, and the middle of the pyramid gets like 6-10 days a year max. You are unironically expected to show up if you're able to push through it, even (especially) if you work in healthcare or food, and if your manager is a nice guy they'll let you work slow or give you a few extra minutes here or there to rest
