Why are Israel and Iran fighting? I attempted looking it up but I didn't understand it due to all the made up words and history I don't care about.

Iran gave money to Muslim extremist groups in the region to fuck with the Israelis because Muslims don't like Israel. Israelis are scared shitless that Iran builds nuclear weapons so they bombed nuclear facilities (which is the most under-discussed war crime in the conflict) and Iran is striking back.
