You miss my point that I'm not talking about adapting to technological advancements and adopting them in day to day life, but losing yourself in the allure and commodity of said technology.
The two things are not the same, and inability to see the distinction is why the new generations are like this.
The closest example I could give of another generation falling into something similar is boomers being glued to their TVs and believing everything it's said on the news, something we phased out of as realization of why that is wrong came to us.

No where near the level of some but yea I've gone through some sexual abuse. Even as an adult, knowing it's wrong, I don't FEEL that way. I don't feel the sense of vindictiveness towards them, I don't feel like they are monsters, I still just see my family member. I actively try to suppress the memory instead and just move on. I know it's wrong, I know they shouldn't have done that to me, yet I also make excuses for them like in the OP image. It's very very strange because I know if I was talking to someone else, I would try to think "how could you not hate them/report them to the police" etc. Well I get why, because you actually see the "human" in the other person when they are someone close to you, and when it was while you were younger and too naive to really know better. I will take it to the grave, I already decided I won't go out of my way to attack these people as it is not worth the turmoil. But the weirder part is how I feel absolutely nothing against them either. Like I know I'm supposed to, and I know I would never want that for my own children, but aside from cringing a bit at the memory, I feel 0 ill will.
